Talking Communities LLC began almost as soon as the Internet came into existence. George Buys, a totally blind computer user began searching for ways that the blind community could collaborate and assist each other through the new technologies emerging with personal computers and the Web. After utilizing several companies and developers, he hooked up with Steven Hoffmann in 2002 to open an on-line web conferencing company. At the time, Hoffmann was living and working in Brazil doing interactive streaming media broadcasting. The formation of Talking Communities opened a new world for on-line collaboration through the use of accessible voice-conferencing and collaboration tools.

All development today in the company is done in-house, allowing for flexibility and agility in this fast-paced and growing market. Intelligent programming allows for widespread customization of the software, websites, and administration panels, introducing a concept totally unique to online conferencing. This customization allows you not only to build your own environment, but even allows you to integrate web-conferencing into any existing platform.

Talking Communities is rewriting the way that web-conferencing and webcasting is done, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated with the latest technologies of Web 2.0, including Blogs, Social Networks, 3-D Virtual Worlds, and just about any existing or future trend anywhere on the Web. We do not claim to lead the way to the future. Instead we will be there, by your side, fully and seamlessly integrated with every new pioneering advancement on the Internet. And as these new concepts and technologies forge the way into Web 2.0, Talking Communities will be part of it all.
